Who is a TechMentor in CVC?
A CVC TechMentor (March 2004-Feb 2006) is: a middle school teacher and he/she has been nominated by the school by school administrators because of their commitment and competence in technology integration in instruction.

Why TechMentoring?
- Mentoring, in general, is one of the best strategies for effective staff development.
- Mentoring is effective in school-settings over centralized workshops.
- Mentoring/TechCoaching provides just-in-time support and training.

A TechMentor:
- is a teacher, guide, coach and role model
- is entrusted with the care and education of another
- is respected and trusted by other teachers
- has knowledge and advanced or expert technology competencies
- is willing to share what he or she knows in a non-competitive way
- is a good listener and does not make quick judgment on teachers
- is a willing learner and does not have the attitude “I know it all!”
- is patient and enthusiastic in helping other teachers
provides new ideas and shows new opportunities.

Mentors will collaborate with teachers and media specialists on integrating technology and provide support with respect to content, instructional strategies, and evaluation.
