Six courses over two-year period.
Innovative Instructional Strategies using the Internet and Instructional Models & Technology Education will be online by June 15, 2004 and is to be completed by December 2004 for three-credits each.

Courses in order:   (Course titles are tentative)
(1) Instructional Models and Technology Education
(2) Developing Visual Literacy
(3) Video Applications in instruction (TV, digital video etc, digital story telling projects etc)
(4) Designing and Managing e-learning (designing online courses; instructional design principles.
(5) Technology Leadership and Staff Development
(6) Instructional Stratgies using the Internet

Courses will be taught in Summer 2004, Fall 2004, Spring 2005 and Fall 2005.  We need to make sure mentors complete courses by December 2005.  This will help us to write the completion and progress report to DOE by Feb 2006.

 Are courses mandatory?
Yes, unless the mentor already holds a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology. The purpose of offering these courses is to provide opportunities for mentors to align ISTE NETS.T in learning environment.  However, going for ISTE NETS.T is an option.  When mentors work hard to complete course work, they will have an adequate number of artifacts to upload to achieve ISTE certification.
